Asda choc can be found in seibu both milk and dark in brick form. They also have Tim tams too nearly all the time nowadays.

Good point, forgot about Asda stuff in Seibu. They also had a revolting Asda ale for 299 yen a month or so ago.

Lots of direct imported Asda items can be purchased at Seiyu Supermarkets including great bottled ales like Spitfire from Shepherds Neame Brewery at reasonable prices – can also buy online – See: http://www.the-seiyu.com/front/app/catalog/list/init?searchCategoryCode=E102054&nsFlg=false&wrt=y – real ales and way way tastier than Japanese domestic brews,

Thanks, though I’d already mentioned the three Shepherds Neame beers plus the two they brew especially for Asda above. Spitfire is a classic, but was less impressed by the other two and the Asda ones are a bit crap. Apart from Spitfire, nowadays there are plenty of Japanese craft beers that are at least as good – although ironically perhaps most for more money than those British beers.

Any other Asda stuff apart from the chocolate?

Aeon My Basket and Caferrant in Koenji-Asagaya area has Waitrose Banana Papaya and Honey Oat Clusters Cereal as well as Raisin Honey and Oat Clusters Cereal both at 498 yen for 1kg bags. Well definitely that price in My Basket.

Is there anywhere in Tokyo good for Marmite (aside from amazon.jp)?

  7. Thanks for the tip. Seijo Ishii sometimes sells Marmite, and so does Nissin Supermarket, but as it is only the tiny one I’ve switched to Vegemite, which is larger, cheaper, and more readily available, e.g. in Kaldi. Details of all those places elsewhere on this blog.
